Pray for Jeruel Baptist Church in Munith, Michigan

We invite you to pray for Jeruel Baptist Church, a rural congregation in Munith, Michigan. Located on a vital road connecting a small community to a nearby city, Jeruel was established in 1972. The founding members chose the name Jeruel, which means “founded by God.” At its peak, Jeruel Baptist experienced vibrant growth, with attendance averaging around 120 people. Today, the church averages about 60 attendees each Sunday and is currently led by Pastor Josh Swieringa, the third pastor in its history.

The church is excited to announce the launch of a 30-day prayer and evangelism program called The Hope Initiative. This initiative aims to deepen the faith of church members while actively reaching out to the local community with the Gospel. Church leadership is dedicated to equipping the congregation and investing in the church’s spiritual life through prayer, preaching, and relational ministry.

The people of Jeruel Baptist are asking God to first move powerfully within their own lives and families, and then to bring that revival outward into their community. The burden is heavy, but so is their hope. Their longing is for spiritual growth, commitment, and a renewed passion for the Gospel.

How You Can Pray:

  • Pray for brokenness and revival, that God would awaken every heart to the desperate need for spiritual renewal.

  • Pray for the success of their intense prayer initiative, that God would work deeply through those who commit to this effort.

  • Pray that the church would develop an evangelistic heart, seeing and seizing opportunities to share Christ with their neighbors.

  • Lift up Pastor Josh, asking God to strengthen and guide him as he preaches and makes spiritual investments in the congregation.

  • Pray for lay leaders to rise up, stepping into “life touching life” ministry and actively discipling others within the body.
