Asbury Methodist Church is pastored by Judy Jeremias. The church is a young and vibrant congregation, just two years old, named in honor of Francis Asbury, who preached on the banks of the Shallotte River in the late 1700s. A part of the North Carolina Conference of the Global Methodist Church, this faithful community began by gathering in a park, then a senior center, before settling into an available church building where they continue to worship today.
Located in the fastest growing county in North Carolina, Asbury is preparing to move into a highly visible location surrounded by hundreds of new homes and beach communities, placing them in the heart of a rapidly expanding mission field. Their heart for outreach is already evident through their active food pantry ministry, serving over 300 people each month and building bridges to their neighbors through compassionate service.
How You Can Pray:
- Pray for wisdom and provision as Asbury moves forward after securing 15.5 acres of land to build their future church campus. Pray for the next steps of fundraising and site planning.
- Pray for connection and growth as they seek to become the faith community home for the many new residents moving into their area.
- Pray for their new Director of Young Disciples as she leads and nurtures the next generation of believers through children and youth ministry.
- Pray for fruitful ministry as they welcome summer visitors and residents from nearby beach communities such as Holden Beach, Sunset Beach, and Ocean Isle Beach.
- Pray for Pastor Judy Jeremias as she balances ministry, family life, and studies at Wesley Biblical Seminary. May she be encouraged, strengthened, and filled with joy in this season of faithful service.
